Here in Brisbane, our normal monthly rainfall for October is about 75mm. That's not bad - you don't need to water the grass or garden. Nice time of year really.
Last night, we had more than 300mm of rain. A few streets got evacuated (by boat), lots of roads are closed (a few are washed completely away), and a whole bunch of tiny creeks turned into rivers for a while.
Anyway, the new drainage out the back works a treat! Unfortunately, the skylights didn't cope too well, so I have a few wet ceilings. My menagerie of dogs are all currently living in different rooms of the house and I couldn't return to work (although I saw some very funny videos on the news of people who tried too hard to get back to work). Don't drive into fast flowing flood waters people!
It's still raining, but not heavily - just enough to stop me getting the roof fixed. Oh, the new studio/classroom held up okay but I noticed under the furniture is quite damp tonight. Hope I don't lose cupboards and stuff. Coulda been a lot worse.
Stay well campers. Share the love.

(PS - oh, it just started peeing down again! Thank God I make my own rum - I might end up being here a while.)

Pretty wet down on the border too!!! We went for a walk along the beach this afternoon & I think I embarrassed Den by playing in the sea foam .... !
Down at Froggy's (Rainbow Bay, just south of Coolangatta)it was amusing to see the sand dredging outlet spewing out tonnes of sand laden water into the already sand laden waves. Seemed like a worthless exercise! As fast as it was being dumped it was being washed away!
Stay safe and ration the rum for the long haul!!!
