It's really choppy and suuuuuper scribbly because I took like 30 seconds to draw each frame. Please fill in the gaps and gloss over the art with your wonderful imagination! I made it in Windows Movie Maker which is an absolutely evil program =o=

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Narrowing the nudes...

I'm trying to identify what I like (and don't like!) in nudes.

I've worked out this much:  I don't like things that are too explicit.  I want to feel delight at softness or a sense of social message.  I don't like crazy, unnatural poses.  I don't like a model to be posed where she looks either really boney or it's not flattering to a fuller form.  I don't like  shots that are designed to appeal to the "typical male soft-core porn" ideal.

I think if I boil it back... I like a nude to have a message or idea.  And no, boobs and bums are not an idea!  There has to be a connection or story for me.  It's interesting because I've found myself favouriting some glamour shots that I wouldn't have expected to have liked - and some stuff that is more explicit than I'd take - hence the need to examine what's working for me.  I think that the ones I like are images that tell me a story.

So, I think it's not about the style.  I think it's about the story.  I might even go off and google the connection between art and story-telling.  I expect that as cave-folks, that's where our art came from.

I like the idea of having something to think about too, not just bared and flashed out for all to see

and some of the so-called AN work submitted in the past few months of males.... eww, if i wanna see an erect p, well, yeah yadayada, i report all that horrid stuff here, not to say there isn't good male AN work, of which there is, some really thoughtful and artistic nude work has been submitted here and i think that is great. As for some of the subject combinations of women and accessories too haha, well yeah a lot belongs in comic books and the like, i guess i could rant on for hours here but i will restrain myself.... as i am trying to enjoy some good beer and some japanese cartoons at the moment

LOL. You enjoy ya beer and cartoons. But I think ya dead right mate. I'm probably stupid for trying to work out what it is that really works for me but at least I understand it's "for me." Others have to work out their own rules. If I can just get it... then that will help me shoot heaps! (I ain't gunna judge my morals against anyone else's.. it's about what appeals to the art!)

hehee the cartoons i watch have loads of blood and gore and nasty stuff in them, oh and subtitles, hehee so you have to try and keep your brain up to speed to take it all in
